THE MILL CASINO GRAND RE-OPENING, MAY 18

Dear Friends,

We are excited to announce The Mill Casino • Hotel & RV Park will open May 18!  Our reopening comes just in time for the 25th Anniversary of our original opening in 1995.

We’ve missed all of our friends during this closure and have been hard at work to develop a comprehensive “Safe Play Plan” that is designed to protect the health and safety of you, our employees and our community.

When you are comfortable visiting us again, you’ll find some things will look different for a while; for the time being we will have limited hours, a reconfigured gaming floor, and not all venues will be open. And while things may be a little different for a while, we’re doing all we can to make sure friends like you will have as great a time at The Mill Casino as you always have!

Our Safe Play Plan includes a lot of details but a few of the things you need to be aware of before you plan your visit are:

ENTRY
Entry into the casino will be through the Casino Valet and Hotel Entrances Only. Exiting will be through the Main Casino Doors. Prior to entering, all guests will be asked a series of questions per CDC guidelines, will have their temperature monitored and will be provided a mask.  While all employees are required to wear masks, guests may make their own decisions regarding masks.

HOURS & CAPACITY
Sunday – Thursday:  9 AM to 10 PM
Friday & Saturday: 9 AM – 1 AM
Casino Floor Occupancy will be restricted to 300 guests. Should we reach capacity, guests will enter through the Salmon Room where they can comfortably sit to wait for entry onto the casino floor.

GAMING FLOOR
To ensure social distancing protocols can be followed, the gaming floor has been reconfigured and some machines have been removed.Table Games will not be open at this time. Limited sports betting is available based on the games available to wager on.

RESTAURANTS
Timbers Café will be the only restaurant open for the time being and will be providing to go food only. Social distance seating is available in Warehouse 101 and Saw Blade Buffet.  The Casino Floor Bar will be open, last call will be 30 minutes prior to closing.

This plan will change based on evolving conditions. We’ll keep you informed of any changes to the plan as we move forward. We ask you to be an active participant in
keeping The Mill Casino a safe and fun place for all to enjoy.

April 13, 2020

We realize you may be wondering how this temporary closure affects your offers and benefits. Below are a few of the steps we’re taking to make sure you continue to enjoy both when we reopen.

* If you received recent offers, rest assured that new, similar offers will be available to you.
* We are extending your current tier status through January 18, 2021.
* If you had a birthday during the closure, your birthday kiosk game will be available to you.
* If you have slot or sports betting tickets that expire during the closure, we will honor those up to 90 days after we reopen.

Based on the current landscape, we still do not have a projected opening date at this time. Rest assured we are checking information daily and as soon as we know our open date, we will share with you.

March 25, 2020

Dear Friends,

Last week, we made the difficult decision to close our hotel, casino and restaurants for seven days. We did this to reduce the possibility of the novel coronavirus spreading into and through our community.

Over the past week, we’ve been closely monitoring the developments around the coronavirus. Based on the rapidly evolving information we have at this time from national and state authorities about the spread of the virus, The Mill Casino has decided to remain closed until further notice.  This includes the hotel, RV park, casino and restaurants.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will provide updates of any new developments. Once we feel confident that our employees and guests will be safe, we will make the decision to re-open our doors. But just like you, we’re taking this situation one day at a time and we’re doing our best to determine the best course of action based on what we know. Please also know that we continue to look for opportunities to support our local health care providers and necessary retailers as they work to serve our community.

As our friends, you are all in our hearts during this extremely challenging time.

Thank you for your support.

Terri Porcaro, CEO

North Bend, Ore – Today the Coquille Tribal Council issued the following statement.

After consultations with state, federal and tribal authorities and after much deliberation, the Coquille Tribal Council will close The Mill Casino • Hotel & RV Park for seven days effective at midnight tonight. The Council will review the prevailing situation after the seven days to reevaluate the status of the facility.

Tribal Council took into consideration the nature of the current pandemic and the nationwide public health interest in creating social distances in making the decision to temporarily close The Mill. This decision was not made lightly. The Tribe consulted with all of its community partners before making this decision.

The Mill is more than a business. It is a core facility for taking care of Tribal members and the entire North Bend-Coos Bay community. With its considerable kitchen facilities, lodging availability and gathering areas, The Mill provides important infrastructure to support the community’s ability to respond to emergencies.

Our employees count on us and we will continue to pay them during the week the facility is closed. As the second largest employer in the county, we want to mitigate the effects The Mill’s closing will have on our region.

The events we are living through now are distressing to everyone in our community. In the coming days, the Coquille Tribal Council and The Mill’s management will continue to seek out ways we can assist our community, employees and Tribal members.  For 25 years, The Mill Casino has been a community hub and social gathering place during good times and in times of distress; we will continue to be there during this time of need.

RV Park to Remain Open for Existing Guests

The RV Park will remain open in order to serve our existing guests only. No new reservations will be taken at this time.  Services will be limited.  Laundry facilities, showers and restrooms will be closed so we advise only self-contained vehicles stay. The RV Park office will be temporarily closed. Cash payments will not be accepted during this time.

Update on Our Response to COVID-19

We at The Mill Casino • Hotel & RV Park share your concerns over this public health issue. That is why we are doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of our guests and employees throughout the property. While we continue to operate as usual, our team members are taking extra steps to ensure that our guests enjoy a clean and healthy environment. Meanwhile, we will continue to rely on updated information from federal, state and tribal resources and follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to adjust our policies as needed.

Taking Care of Our Guests

Our guest service always begins with our employees. Guests can be assured that members of our team they meet every day are following the safety protocols recommended by public health authorities.

Our environmental services team is adding to their already thorough cleaning practices. They have increased the number of times they clean all surfaces in common areas, particularly the slot machines. And, members of our slot team are assisting with the cleaning policy to ensure that every guest will sit down at a clean machine.

Also, on the gaming floor, our cards are changed four times per shift and cards in the shoe are changed every shift. Dice also are changed every shift.

Surface cleaning extends to the Hotel where all guest services, like the hotel front desk and keypads and even the elevator buttons, are sanitized every hour. As always, every guest room is sanitized and given special care to ensure that all surfaces are cleaned, including phones and remote controls.

Hand sanitizing stations have been set up throughout the property and sanitary wipes are available at the Hotel Front Desk, The Mill Club and all dining venues.

In order to follow social distancing guidelines, every other slot machine will be closed. If there’s a particular machine you would like to play that is closed, please contact a slot attendant. Table games have been reduced to 3 chairs. Disposable gloves are available for guests at the Mill Club or Cage.

Taking Care of Our Employees

Our team members take great pride in the services they provide to our guests. To provide those services in a safe manner, we regularly remind and encourage our team to abide by the cautionary measures for personal hygiene recommended by the CDC.

We also remind our guests to wash their hands frequently and make use of the hand sanitizes and wipes available throughout the property.

We encourage any team member who does not feel well or has any symptoms of this disease or the flu, to stay home and contact their health care provider. Our Human Resources department has increased communications with team members to ensure they have the most up to date information and are being assisted through any hardships created by school closures.

Any team member who prefers not to work due to health concerns will be allowed to take time off.

Employee Dining Room options have temporarily changed from buffet servings to grab ‘n go items.

Events & Entertainment

The Heartbeat City concert scheduled for March 28 is cancelled. Guests who purchased tickets can call KoKwel Gifts to receive a refund.  Future events will be announced shortly.

Live entertainment in Warehouse 101 is cancelled through March 31 in order to discourage people from congregating in smaller spaces. Trivia Night is postponed until future notice.

Social distancing strategies will be employed throughout all venues.

Looking Toward Our Community

We want to stay ahead of this disease in case the COVID-19 virus is detected in our community.

Our county’s public health agency, Coos Health and Wellness, has been active in planning for a potential outbreak and informing local government officials and the public of how to cope with this illness.

For more information on this issue, visit Coos Health and Wellness here.

CDC’s Recommended Prevention Practices

Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

For information about handwashing, see CDC’s Handwashing website
